Thoughts on life from Pat Oaks
You know my name
We are having 21 days of fasting and prayer at church. They are having special prayer meetings at church for those days, and last night was the first one we could attend. There are other things going on at the church as well, so we were involved in those.
Only a hand full came last night, but it was a sweet time of prayer and worship. John boy played and Paul wanted him to do a couple of worship songs for us to sing then play throughout the prayer time, softly. Music has a way of drawing me closer to God. We sang a song that we used to sing with our neighborhood kids. One line in it says,
"You know my name. You know my every thought. You see each tear that falls, and You hear me when I call."
About 2 years ago, I fell and broke my hip. Right before I went into surgery, my Grand daughter, Gillian, texted me those lines. I can't tell you the peace it gave me going into surgery. I had never been put to sleep before and was a bit anxious! Last night when we came home from prayer, I texted those same lines back to my Grand daughter. She wrote back and thanked me and said she needed that.
All of us need to hear that. I am writing it to you today just in case you need to hear it too!
